Riposta Gym

Riposta Sports Club opened its own fencing gym, in the premises of the Free Press House, in March 2021.

The project was born during the pandemic, when the club was left without a training gym and we had to find solutions to continue the activity.

The Floreasca gym, where we had been training, closed its doors indefinitely. We looked to rent a space in the Northern part of the Capital to continue our activity.

After countless attempts, we found a space of about 450 sqm, located inside the Free Press House, Building A1, 3rd floor, for a period of 5 years, benefiting from an extraordinary opening for the project.

From two halls for the construction of printing moulds we managed, in a relatively short time (4 months), to build a modern fencing gym.

The key element in setting up a gym is the quality of the exercise surface.

This is why the gym design project has taken into account the special needs of safety, comfort and durability in the choice of strips or other products for the interior design.

The gym design part was not easy, but we had to take into account some essential aspects and manage to make the gym a pleasant place where you want to spend as much time as possible. The space required a lot of adjustments to ensure that the sports activities could take place in optimal conditions.

The official opening took place on March 17th 2021, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sport, Mr. Eduard Novak, the President of the Romanian Olympic Committee, Mr. Mihai Covaliu, the President of the Romanian Fencing Federation, Mr. Marius Florea, Loredana Dinu, Olympic and World Champion, and the managers of the Riposta Sports Club: Sandu Constantin and Lucian Dina.

The premises have 450 square meters, two training rooms with 7 fully equipped training strips, a physical training area with high performance equipment, changing rooms, showers, storage areas and an office.

The gym is open to all who wish to discover the mysteries of this noble and elegant sport.
